MOM’s is committed to only selling 100% sustainable seafood. Our standards are formulated through the expertise provided by our partners at the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch program.
MOM’s also partners with the Wide Net Project to reduce catfish (an invasive species) in the Chesapeake Bay. While Blue Catfish were first introduced to The Chesapeake Bay in the ‘70s as a sport fish, they’ve become a threat to the waterway since they’re now ubiquitous and invasive They prey on native fish species and vegetation, including Maryland Blue Crab. Because of their vast population and voracious appetites, they pose a serious threat to the fragile Chesapeake Bay ecosystem. For every lb purchased at MOM’s, 2 portions (or 2 meals) are donated to those in need.
