How is your clothing grown?

The conventional textile industry has been named one of the most chemically intensive industries and the second-largest polluter of water.

Cotton is also the most pesticide-intensive crop in the world. Conventionally grown cotton covers 2.5% of the world’s cultivated land but uses 16% of the world’s fertilizers and pesticides. Five of the top nine pesticides used on U.S. cotton are cancer-causing chemicals.
