| Freckles
Irregular pigments in the skin that appear as small, brown dots around the nose, cheeks, shoulders and other areas of the body. Freckles tend to appear in childhood and fade by age 40. They often appear more prominently in the summer months and become less noticeable in the winter. Fair-skinned, blonde-haired and red-haired people are most likely to develop freckles. Those with blue eyes and green eyes are also prone to freckles. Freckles are not considered a health threat, but those who are susceptible to freckles are more likely to suffer from sunburns and some skin cancers. | |
